The Livingston Ripley Waterfowl Conservancy presents the Third Annual Duck Day on Sunday, June 22^nd.  Located on Duck Pond Road in Litchfield, hours will be 10 am - 4 pm and admission is free.  Duck Day provides hands-on education about waterfowl, wetlands and nature, along with information on our research, conservation, and educational programs.  The day’s events will include conservation and wildlife exhibits; wildlife art, photography, and carving displays; bird watching, hatching eggs, and aviary visits.  Special events include the Sky Hunters in Flight Birds of Prey Show, Labrador retriever demonstrations, puppet shows, and our first annual Rubber Duck Race.  Fun for all ages!  For more Information, visit www.LRWS.org.

 

Join the Litchfield Historical Society on June 25^th at 5:00pm at the old Litchfield Train Depot located at 28 Russell Street as they commemorate the 60^th anniversary of the closing of the Shepaug Railroad. Speakers will include Senator Andrew Roraback and Joe Greco, President and CEO of the First National Bank of Litchfield. A visual presentation will be provided by Fletcher Cooper, author of The Shepaug Railroad 1872-1948.
